What is the best medication for a teenager with acne problems?

My daughter is 14 years old and I’m concerned about her acne. Acne runs on my husbands side of the family (badly) including my husband, and now I see it with my daughter. The doctor has prescribed Bactrim, Doxycycline, and now Tetracycline. Her face doesn’t just have the pimples, it has a lot of redness around her cheeks. She now has image issues, and I don’t know what to do. Does anyone know of a good Dermatologist in Fresno Ca. with reasonable prices? My daughters face now looks scared. She is 14 years and I’m afraid that as she gets older things will get worse. Is there a stronger medication than Tetracycline? How can I help my daughter?

If she has cystic acne and has tried many antibiotics, the doctor can prescribe Accutane. However, Accutane has MANY MANY potentially dangerous side effects. She will have to be placed on birth control, you will have to read a booklet, sign a waiver and the prescriptions are filled with special rules. It’s a LAST DITCH effort when all else has failed. Good Luck and try asking your physician his opinion of placing your daughter on this medication.

I have weird blemishes under my breasts. They kind of look like insulin build up or even melasma. Its really weird, I spent 45 minutes trying to scrub it off. I may be pregnant, but I’m waiting on a blood test. Has anyone had these problems??

i personally love mary kay products. i use the timewise system and i swear my skin has never looked better. i have spent so much money on face products to find the one that makes my skin look good. i have used alot of different products and mary kay is the only one that i can see actually makes a difference…and believe me i was skeptical at first. but after using them for awhile i have gotton so many complamints on my skin..now i have pretty good skin to begin with so it was a plus to hear that it looks good.

Women’s Excessive Facial Hair Growth – there’s no need to suffer!

Excessive facial or body hair in women is a condition called hirsutism. Hirsutism either runs in the family, usually presenting at menopause and puberty, or it can be an indicator of a larger underlying problem. Research indicates that up to 10-12% of the Australian female population is affected by Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome which can be linked to excessive hair growth and hirsutism.

Hereditary hirsutism is largely an aesthetic rather than a health concern.
