Why do Ideal’s magic skin dolls turn very dark, can they be restored or prevented from turning dark?

Some of the magic skin dolls have not turned dark, others have. Why? Can the original color be restored? How? Some dolls have not turned dark, how can they be prevented from turning dark?

It’s the type of latex that was used at the time. It’s not just Ideal dolls but all dolls made of latex have this problem. I think that the way they are stored has alot to do with whether they turn dark or not. I have 3 (Ideal, Effanbee and Sayco) and keep them covered most of the time, they are dark, but not as dark as some I’ve seen. The only thing that can be done is to paint them, but that’s up to the owner, personally I wouldn’t.
