Micro-dermabrasion?

I am 25 years old and was wondering about micro-dermabrasion. I had acne when I was a teenager but luckily it didn’t leave really bad scarring. However, there are a few spots on my cheeks that bother me. I don’t know if others can really even notice it but I do because I look at myself closely everyday. I also tend to have a blotchy skin tone. In the summer when I tan my face looks even but in the winter it looks splotchy….

You don’t have to go to a dermatologist. Look for someone who is licensed to preform it. I had it done once (I won a certificate) and she did my whole face and neck and it would have cost about $100. You do have to go multiple times, though, to see dramatic effects but it should help with scars and blotches. Try contacting beauty salons as a few in my area advertise micro-dermabrasion. Also try a spa or a place that specializes in facials as they probably have someone there. If you go to a dermatologist, though, part of it may be covered by insurance. Check with your insurance provider. Good luck!

Is the toner used in the proactive acne set irritating to your face?

It makes my face itch and i’m not sure if it is supposed to; does anybody else think the same thing?

I used that product for four years and it never did that to my skin, you either are allergic to it or your skin is being burned by a very strong medication

first try stopping the toner and if the symptom does not go away then
stop using whatever else you are using on your face

Do some medications make your acne worse before it gets better?I mean, does your body have to get used to the medication before it becomes effective? I’ve heard that many medications usually bring the acne to the surface so it can heal it or something, making it look worse before it gets better. Is this true?

I started a topical antibiotic two weeks ago and it seemed as though all the pimples came to the surface, so it did seem worse for the first two weeks, now though, it seems to be clearing up. I also am taking oral antibiotics which help with the redness and swelling. Good luck.
