also, when i use the sponge to wash down there, will i get blood on it?

You need to bathe during your cycle to stay fresh smelling. I find a shower to be more comfortable. I also shower with tampons in so I don’t get blood on my towels or loofa. Try that. If you don’t use tampons, you may get blood on the sponge but it’ll wash out. I find baths very uncomfortable during my period.

The hairdresser used too much gel, and now my hair is hard and I was wondering how do I wash the gel out for the backs and sides of the hair, without ruining the twists in the front, if possible.

Maybe you could try a damp washcloth (or damp fingers even), and try to lightly run down the areas that are too hard. (gently).
